Rolf Oberholzer

Certified Rolfer™

My goal is to support and guide you through your individual process, helping you rediscover your physical balance and well-being.

My Journey into Bodywork

I was born in 1976 and grew up near Zurich. In 2020, my journey led me to Japan. My career as a therapist began years earlier: After a decade in the corporate world, I decided on a fresh start in 2010 and trained in Switzerland as a Swiss Federal Diploma Medical Massage Therapist.

Even back in the corporate world, I was increasingly drawn to yoga and meditation to balance a stressful lifestyle. This path eventually led me to my medical training. Yet, even as I began working as a therapist and deepening my knowledge of manual therapies, I continued to struggle with recurring back and neck pain. My search for lasting relief eventually led me to the 10-series of Rolfing®.

This experience was a major turning point: for the first time, I experienced true freedom of movement. I learned how to move my body more effortlessly and dynamically in everyday life, at work, and during my hobbies – with ease rather than strain. This new quality of life and deep sense of body awareness convinced me to become a Certified Rolfer myself.

My Approach Today, I integrate this medical foundation with specialized methods such as ScarWork and Craniosacral elements to support the body as a whole.

My Focus: Structure, Movement & Flow
Whether you seek relief from everyday discomfort, want to increase your efficiency as an athlete, find more ease in your musical expression, or regain your natural movement after an injury – I support you in bringing awareness to old patterns and optimizing your individual structure and breathing.

My goal is to support and guide you through your individual process, helping you rediscover your physical balance and well-being, and to experience your natural sense of flow anew. I am grateful for my clients in Japan and look forward to meeting you. Trust your intuition: let’s start with an initial session and decide together how to proceed.

Warm regards,

Rolf Oberholzer, Certified Rolfer™

« I experienced Rolfing like a chiropractor, but instead of setting the bones and joints, the tissues around the bones were treated. It also felt like physical therapy in that you do movement, and like a massage, as your body feels relaxed afterward. »

Johanna, 31

« It is hard to describe what Rolfing is, but it's the only thing that has helped my knee and back pain. My posture has also improved, and I'm much more aware of my body and posture. It's amazing. »

Johanna, 31

« As a lifetime athlete, my body is my best friend but also my worst enemy. Taking good care of yourself is the key to success. Rolfing, I found, is one of the best approaches to balance your body fatigue. »

Marco, 38

« Personally, Rolfing felt like deliberate learning on my body. With simple, experimental exercises and clear instructions from Rolf, I was able to identify some critical points where I should look at and become more careful. »

June, 39

« Rolf and Rolfing were a real revelation and very welcome treatment. I had posture problems forever and tried everything but all to no avail. By the time I found Rolf, everything had changed in just one session. I started to stand and sit straighter and felt more comfortable in my body. After finishing the whole program, I decided to keep it ongoing. Now that Rolf left for Japan, I miss his Rolfing sessions. »

Cris, 49

« One year ago, I did the ten basic Rolfing sessions. The treatment gave me moments when I experienced my body anew, an inner connection from head to toe. Today I stand on my feet more easily, I breathe more effortlessly, feel more energy, and Rolfing also helped my hip problems. »

Therese, 72

« After a Rolfing session, your body goes into a state of perfect balance. You feel light on your feet, and you stand straight easily; breathing in and out feels more natural; all the pain is gone. »

Marco, 38

« I feel more vital since the treatment and notice how my lousy posture has improved. A clear proof of this is the free neck and back; the pain when bending over is gone. I can only recommend Rolfing Therapy, especially Rolf as a very professional therapist. »

Christa, 40

« I used to get terrible migraines quite often after childbirth. Through the 10 sessions with Rolf, the pain gradually becomes less frequent and less severe. However, the bigger gain for me is now to know my own body better, what to be careful in daily life, and what to do whenever the pain becomes unavoidable. Therefore I no longer need to worry when I will come down with pain. »
